Vihaasini Selvakumar is a person of many talents, with an innate drive for art and creation. Her affinity for music emerged at an early age, starting her lessons at just four years old. At nine, she began learning Bharathanatyam, a form of Indian classical dance, under various instructors. Eventually, she started training with Dr. Roshani Vijayan at Thanjavur Kala Vidhyalaya in Coimbatore. She has been practicing Bharatanatyam for the past 17 years.
Awards & Achievements
- She received the title “Nrutya Vibushan” from Akhil Natrajam Aantar Sanskrutik Sangh at Pune on the occasion of Nrutya Darpan Festival.
- She received the title “Veera Natya Vithagi” for the Largest Sword Dance as a tribute to Veeramangai Velunachiyar from Kalaimamani. Madurai. R. Muralidharan and Dr. D. Sowmya.
- Secured 5th rank in the SVFAC-organized "Anubhav" contest.
- She received the title "Natya Kalai Selvi" at her Arangetram in 2018.
- She also participated in Bharatham 5000, a Guinness world record event.
- She performed at Natyanjali events, including at Ganga Konda Chola Puram, Sirkazhi, Pattiswaram, and various temple festivals.
- Participated in and cleared Annamalai University Grade Exams.
- She has won numerous awards for group and solo dance performances in her schools and college.
